Lloyd's and the Titanic
It is commonly known that Lloyd's insured the Titanic. What is
known by only a select few is that "the Titanic was insured AFTER it had sunk,
by a London broker who had received a frantic telegraphed order to do so from
a colleague in New York, where the news of the disaster was closely held but
known to insiders."
